Third 14 Days of Stay at Home (Day 31)

17th April 2020, Friday


It's Friday again. My dad went to the market early in the morning, he bought vege and meat. So my task was to unpacked them and put it inside the fridge. While I was unpacking, I came across bitter gourd and salted egg. Suddenly I thought of this recipe I came across on Facebook earlier this morning too. I told mum I wanted to try out this dish - Salted Egg Bitter Gourd. So I cooked this for our dinner. When ever I'm cooking new dishes, I would film it, so it took me almost an hour to cook this quite simple dish. 

The main ingredients needed was salted egg and bitter gourd, but I was lacking of some curry leaves and chili padi. I couldn't get it anywhere near here, so I made some improvisation to the dish by using curry powder. Honestly, I'm amazed with this dish, I loved it so much and I could eat few bowls of rice just with this dish.

Mum cooked another dish which was steamed chicken. I would say both dish really complement each other so well. Dad also bought char sau (roasted BBQ pork). We had super early dinner as it's Friday, we needed to prepare ourselves for the service.
