Day 3: 1 May 2016 (Sunday)

Our third day at TJC Keningau. As usual, our morning routine is to have morning prayer from 6.30 am to 7.00 am. The morning prayer was led Bro. Sarino and Bro. Borg Shiung as the interpreter. He shared a topic about Servant (Hamba).

The characteristics of a servant:

1. To see others' needs (Melihat keperluan orang lain)
Philippians 2:4, John 6:5

2. Have the urge to serve (Sentiasa ingin melayani)

1 Peter 4:11, Hebrews 2:10

3. Focus on his own job (Memfokus kerjanya sendiri)
Romans 14:4

4. Constantly improve themselves (Sentiasa memperbaiki diri)
Hebrews 12:16-17

5. To know serving as an opportunity (Melihat melayani sebagai satu kesempatan)
1 Corinthians 16:7

At 7.00 am, we had our breakfast. That day, we need to have quick breakfast because we are having group photo session. Most of us wore the bible camp t-shirt for this group photo.

Done with the photo session, at around 8.00 am we had the Q&A session (Question & Answer). Many questions and hesitations were put forward and was answered by three panels.

The Q&A session lasted for about 1 hour 30 minutes. Then next, we had a quick session of souvenir presentation. 

Pr. Elisa (class monitor of IPT Fellowship) presented the souvenir to Pr. Zakharia as one of the lecturers for this bible camp

Later on, we had our choir practice session, prayer session and lunch break at 12.00 pm. Moving on to the afternoon activities.

At 1.30 pm, we had a music workshop which was conducted by Bro. Herodes. The topic was about "Conducting"

From this workshop, we learned about the roles of a conductor in a choir and ways of conducting. 

At 3.00 pm, we had our last choir practice session for the song "Mengapa Sibuk" before presenting it in the closing ceremony.

Our third day was really packed with both indoor and outdoor activities. By 4.00 pm, we moved to the hall for recreation time. We had a simple game, a battle between 5 groups; Touch N Go, Donkey, Power, Semak Duri & SYF.

Done with the game and we were given time to be with our own groups to have discussions and practice our talent time showcase.

I was in the Touch N Go group together with 6 other friends (Mylsa, Sheron, Hosea, Herodes, Hereckson and Rayner). On the night before (Bible Camp 2016 (Day 2) , we got this (picture below) and our task was to put up the bible story into a performance based on our creativity. It was a biblical event about Mary & Martha recorded in Luke 10:38-42.

We had discussions to draft out our story timeline and determined our own roles in the performance. We agreed to come up with a musical play of Mary & Martha with the following roles & characters:-

i) Narrator & Music: Kim & Mylsa

ii) Jesus: Hereckson

iii) 2 disciples of Jesus (John & Peter) : Herodes & Rayner

iv) Mary: Hosea

v) Martha: Sheron

By 5.00 pm, we were asked to gather at the front door area of the hall. The committee members were starting to light up the fire for that night's BBQ ^^ Everyone was super excited.

Meanwhile, it's time for fellowship for all of us. Sing along, playing the human wave and guessing the hymn numbers.

At around 6.00 pm, BBQ dinner was ready. Everyone really enjoyed that last dinner at TJC Keningau. 

At 7.30 pm, everyone gathered around to watch and enjoy the "Talent Time" performances.

Tertiary Education Bible Camp 2016 (Day 2) - Kem Alkitab IPT 2016

Day 2: 30 April 2016 (Saturday)... Happy Sabbath Day ^^


Our second day at TJC Keningau. First thing of the day, morning prayer. The morning prayer was led by Bro. Herodes and Sis. Wai Ping as the interpreter. Bro. Herodes shared a topic about Giving The Best To God (Beri Yang Terbaik Kepada Tuhan).

In his sharing, he pointed out four things that we should give our best to God; 

i) mature faith (iman yang matang) - Hebrews 5:12

ii) body (tubuh) - Romans 12:1

iii) time (masa) - Ecclesiastes 9:10 

iv) heart (hati) - Mark 12:41-44, 1 Samuel 16:7

At 7.00 am, we had our breakfast which was prepared by brethren of TJC Keningau. 

We had our first and second lecture session by Pr. Zakharia. In the first session, he explained about "Busy" (Sibuk) as this year's bible camp theme was "Why Busy?" (Mengapa Sibuk?)

You have looked for much, and, lo, 

it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away.

Why? says the LORD of hosts.

Because of my house that lies in ruins, while you busy yourselves

each with his own house.

In the second half session, Pr. Zakharia talked about Overcome Busyness (Mengatasi Kesibukan). 

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding  in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labour is not in vain.

Even though we are all always busy with our lives, but we must always remember: 

i) to know the words of God (celik dengan Firman Tuhan)

ii) to look forward to the guidance of God (menantikan tuntunan Tuhan)

iii) to be obedient (taat)  

Moving on to the third and fourth sessions by Bro. Dudi Pan shared a topic about "My Time, God's Time" (Masa saya, masa Tuhan)

After the Sabbath Service ended, we proceed with choir session conducted by Bro. Herodes. He composed a theme song titled "Mengapa Sibuk" for this Bible Camp.

At 8.00 pm, we moved over to the multipurpose hall for fun & game time! We were divided into groups. The first game that we played was Bible Quiz based on the four lecture session that we had earlier that morning. Every group was struggling very hard to remember back everything that was taught.

The second game that we had was charades of bible stories. Every player trying their best to act out the given questions so that their group members are able to answer it.  Many funny actions were caught and silly answers were given :D

The last activity we had was jigsaw puzzle. Each of us need to grab a piece of jigsaw puzzle. From the piece, we had to find friends that can match the whole picture of the puzzle. When the puzzle is completed, we found a new team. There were five puzzles which means five new groups. All the puzzles are depicted from the bible stories hence we had to act out the given story on the next day (Talent Night). Stay tuned!
