I have this urged of jotting this story of my popo (grandma, maternal side) which happened about two weeks ago. So we had a monthly routine of bringing her to the bank for her pension. Normally we'll have breakfast with her then to the bank and occasionally she would have request to go to the market to buy some fish and vegetables.
Some intro of my popo. She's turning 83 years old this year. Very loud person, always have stories to tell either about herself or others (gossiping ^^), very fierce too. I guess I inherited some of her characteristics as I was brought up by her from baby till 6 to 7 years old I guess. She's very financial organized, very hardworking since she was very young. My late kung kung (grandpa) was working too, had fixed income, yet popo could still do few job to support her family.
So that day, after we went to the bank for her pension purpose, we went to the fish market. Buying some for herself and some for us. On the way back home, she starts her story-telling session. My popo was originally from Tenom.
Last time when I was young, I seldom asked money from my father. But when I told him that the next day I wanted to go to the town, he would prepare and give me RM 20. So I used the money for transport, breakfast - eating spring roll, meatball and stuffed tauhu (Tenom famous food). Later I would shop for some beautiful dress. Of course as a young girl wants to look beautiful. I saw other girls using face powder, I also bought it. But I didn't like using lipstick, because it was very sticky. After that if I had extra money, I will buy myself a lunch before going back home.

The purpose of jotting this down is to remember my popo's stories during her youth days. And maybe passing it down to my next generation. That's all this round :)
