now vs before

nowadays, it's impossible to finish school work & assignments on time!! it seems that, 24 hours is not enough to get everything done. not to mention doing revision. sometimes, it really does take time to think how to solve homework, especially maths. we need to understand and calculate then we're able to do it. we need to balanced everything well. but, some teacher being inconsiderate and just want us to finish their work on time. come on, everyone has important things to do. just be patient. we'll do it.. forcing us & pushing us won't give good result. can teachers be more considerate, since they also been through school lives. they should know better. why do they still want to torture students? I heard a lot,especially from parents. back in those 60's to 70's, school life wasn't that hard. not so much projects, homeworks and school bags were lighter. but yet still, all of them manage to score well in exams and get good jobs in order to survive. so, why now is totally different? can't we go back like before? with much more simpler life? I really don't understand! someone please explain to me..
